Round Whitefish
Round Whitefish are usually greenish-brown shaded on their upper body and silver to silver-white towards or on their bottoms, depending upon water conditions they may tend to be more or less darker. In Alaska a lot of the native people have been catching them for years and eating them, because their meat is very tasty, they also grind and use any excess meat and other body parts as a feed for their pets, mainly their dogs and cats.
Round Whitefish live in most of the Great Lakes and in the lakes, ponds and other waters of Alaska, and a few other locations in New England. Depending upon where you live and the water temperature, Round Whitefish usually span in the fall.
Round Whitefish mostly eat like catfish do, which means they are bottom feeders, they forage around stones and the bottoms of lakes and water they inhabit, looking for food such as; crayfish, fish eggs, small snails, shrimp and other small critters.
