White Sea Bass
White Sea Bass are colored mostly a slightly dark grayish or grayish-blue over there upper main body area, and silvery white or speckled silvery-grey underneath this area, becoming more silverish or lighter colored further down the main body, and onto the belly area. They have a slightly jutted lower jaw, in that the bottom jaw or mouth area, proceeds out longer then the upper jaw.
White Sea Bass tend to forage more heavily for food, one very cloudy days, or in the nighttime hours. They tend to not bite very aggressively, sometimes they will slowly nibble at a persons bait, striping it off the hook before the anglers even realizes there was a White Sea Bass, biting.
When fishing for White Sea Bass in choppy waters, the gentle biting, slight tugs and twitches, can be felt the best by placing the line that is near the reel, between the thumb and forefinger.
When you feel the fish biting, set the hook before it strips your bait off and flees. When you have a White Sea Bass hooked, they will often spring into life, using every bit of their size and strength to try to break free.
When fishing for White Sea Bass using bait, most anglers will say that the best baits are live squid, sardines and mackerel. If live bait is not available, try using squid that has been cut into strips, move the bait every once in awhile to help entice the White Sea Bass, but if your fishing on a boat in choppy water, the movement of the water, rocking the boat may be enough to attract the fish.
When fishing for White Sea Bass using lures, the top method is just by using a jig, baited with squid strips, and moved often to attract the fish.
